With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald W. Smith of Vinton, Iowa, who passed away on November 27, 2022 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Smith and Susan Smith; his wife Fern Smith; his stepfather Earl Amos; his siblings, Jack, Marshall and Joanne Amos; and his grandson Bradley Smith.
He is survived by: his children, David Smith of Vinton, Leeann Sauer of Vinton, Eric Sauer of Vinton, Pete Sauer (Michele) of Vinton, Brett Smith (Amy) of Palo and Angie Roberts of Hurricane, WV; his grandchildren, Christine Abbott, Savannah Murray (Andrew), Taylor Roberts, Sam Sauer (Paula), Beth Martin (John), Harley Owen, Rocco Gentilella, Caleb and Joshua Sauer; his great grandchildren, Hudson Murray and Adeline Martin; and his siblings, Steven Amos of Sumner and Waneta Lint of Garrison. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
