He is survived by: his wife Jane Thompson; his children, Nicholas (Alexis), Alison Eckert (Aaron) and Amy (Joseph); his grandchildren, Henry, Elsie Vislisel, Conrad, Audrey Eckert, Piper, Pearl and Pike Schminke; his sister-in-law Marilyn Schminke; and his stepsisters, Sherry Elliott of Waterloo and Dianne Rager of Waterloo.
A memorial fund has been established.
