With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Garth L. Haer of Villisca, Iowa, born in Craig, Missouri, who passed away on March 1, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Haer and Verla Faye Haer (Hecker); his wife Shirley Haer; and his brothers, Darrell, Melvin and Glenn Haer.
He is survived by: his children, Greg Haer (Tracy) of Omaha, NE, Lesia Schafer of Clive, IA and Steve Haer (Jodi) of Villisca, IA; and his grandchildren, Jacob Haer, Taylor Haer, Megan Schafer, Kaitlyn McDonald (Nolan), Brendan Schafer, Morganne Sindelar (Alec), Lexie Haer and Maggie Haer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Villisca Youth Sports, the Villisca Volunteer Fire Department and EMT's, or the Villisca United Methodist Church.
