He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed VanDeVoorde and Hilda VanDeVoorde (VanOtegham); his brothers, Louis and Richard; and his brother-in-law Paul Thuerauf.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Elizabeth O'Toole; his children, Mary McDonald (Pat), Dave VanDeVoorde (Michelle), Mark VanDeVoorde and Kevin VanDeVoorde (Jenni); his grandchildren, Connor, Aidan, Meredith McDonald, Hayden, Callie, Katie, Alison, Brian and Megan VanDeVoorde; and his sisters, Theresa Thuerauf and Joyce Connolly.
