He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Hejna and Agnes Hejna (Korn); his stepson Jerry Alan Hejna; and his brothers, Joseph, Frank Jr. and Ed Hejna.
He is survived by: his wife Joann Hejna (Smidt); his son Michael Hejna (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Kyle Hejna (Kallie Campbell), Morgan Staley (Ryne), Madison Hejna, Nicole Nosbisch and Connor Nosbisch of North Liberty, IA; his great grandchildren, Jameson and Brooklyn Staley; and his brother Ron Hejna (Rosie) of Garner, IA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
