With solemn reverence, we commemorate Richard Nelson of Van Meter, Iowa, whose life came to an end on June 18, 2024 at the age of 82, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ardean Nelson and Dorothy Nelson (Wright); his siblings, Eldon, Bub, Bill, Gene, Don and Linda; and his sister-in-law Sandy.

He is survived by: his wife Grace McCool; his children, Johni Smith (Scott) of Waukee, Frankie Herman (Bill) of Dexter, Jodene Lane (Clint) of Van Meter and Rick Nelson (Buffy) of Van Meter; and his brother Frank Nelson (Dorothy) of Prairie City. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designated memorial.
