With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Steve Schallau of Van Horne, Iowa, born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on May 31, 2023 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward "Ebby" Schallau and Irene Schallau (Wicke); his son Scott; his brothers, John and David Schallau; and his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Heitman, Carolyn Frimml and Donald Heitman.
He is survived by: his wife Jo of Van Horne; his daughter Darcy Kearns (Gary) of Van Horne; his daughter-in-law Stephanie Schallau of Keystone; his grandchildren, Kelsey Kearns, Jordan Kearns (Caila) and Shelby Pink (Spencer); his great grandchildren, Laiken and Landry Kearns; his sisters, Catherine Tolsma of Vancouver and Mary Kingery (Chris) of Lincoln, NE; and his sister-in-law Mary Jane Schallau of Lincoln, NE.
