He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Struve and Laura Struve (Schlieman); and his siblings, Howard, Berlyn, Orland and Lorraine Steinford.
He is survived by: his spouse Lucylle Thompson; his children, Mary Halstead (Laverne) of Vinton, Helen Joy Nicholson of Cedar Rapids, Tom Struve (Nancy) of Palo, Betty Feinberg of Cedar Rapids, Jay Struve (Ann) of Iowa City and Janet Moffitt (Marvin) of Cedar Rapids; his brother Rex Struve (Sara) of Monticello; and his sister-in-law Erma Thompson. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
