She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Jentzen and Emma Jentzen (Speyer); her stepparents, Norma Jentzen and John Gambrell; her husband John P. Lawler; her granddaughter Kelsey Lawler; her sister Diane; and her brother-in-law Bob Henkelman.
She is survived by: her stepdaughters, Kathi, Teresa and Diana; her children, Cindy Nelson (Dan) of Emmetsburg, Gail Fitzpatrick (Mike) of Missouri Valley, Jelene Lincoln (Pat) of Ames and Lynn Lamaack (Julie) of Breda; her stepsons, Mike Lawler of Wall Lake and Don Lawler (Naomi) of Glenwood; her sisters, Karen Jentzen (Tom Clark) and Kathy Grinstead (Floyd); her sister-in-law Kathleen Marrs (Jerry) of Lakewood, Colorado; and her close friend Donna Kuehnhold. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
