With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Valerie Gramlich of Urbandale, Iowa, born in Waukon, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Valerie left this world on October 1, 2024 at the age of 41, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Daniel, Ella Mae Gramlich, Leo and Lucille Berns; her aunts and uncles, Linda Kirkeby, Margaret Krambeer, Eugene Berns, Bob Smrcina and Ken Lough; her cousins, Kimberly Wilhem and Brad Berns; her father-in-law Richard Broderick; and her sister-in-law Joanie Broderick.
She is survived by: her parents, Gerald Gramlich (Jerry) and Mary Gramlich (Berns); her husband Dan; her pets, Eli and Opie; her brother Bryan Gramlich (Julie); her nieces and nephews, Brylie and Hudson Gramlich; her mother-in-law Pat Broderick; her sisters-in-law, Laura Van Valkenburg and Jane Broderick; and her nieces, Nicole, Sydney, Brooke and Ava. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In a quaint covid restricted ceremony on March 13, 2021, she and Dan Broderick tied the knot in Bondurant, Iowa.
