She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William O'Meara and Louise O'Meara (Reed); her children, Mark Hummel of Urbandale, Susan Hummel (Larry Pace) of Columbia, MO, Kevin Hummel (Cindy), Perry Hummel of Des Moines, Lynne Hummel (Alan Abuhl) of Elkhart and Janet Broderick (Kelly) of Clive; her son-in-law Gordy Hannan of Urbandale; her husband William; her children, Robert "Bobby" Hummel and Marcia "Marcy" Hannan; her granddaughter Gretchen Hummel; her daughter-in-law Jane Hummel; and her siblings, Charles Bennett, William Bennett and Kathryn "Karlene" O'Hara. She was also cherished by 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Sally Hummel, 88, died Monday, December 31, 2018, at Unity Point Methodist West Hospital, from complications of Alzheimer's.
