It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald Dale Riel of Urbandale, Iowa, born in Janesville, Wisconsin, who passed away on December 16, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Riel and Irene Riel. He is survived by: his children, Lori Riel Gordon (Bob Whisenand) of Dexter, Douglas Riel of Marshalltown, Kimberly Schelin Schipper (Ron) of Baxter and Jay Schelin (Debra) of Raleigh, NC.; his grandchildren, Ryan Gordon, Rachel Thomas (Sean), Ross Gordon, McKenna Wigg (Kris Flora), Tristen Wigg, Shailey Keeling (Joe), Lakin Schipper, Lauryn Schipper, Abby Hershey and Jake Hershey; his great grandchildren, Madisyn Gordon and Ayden Thomas; his wife Kay Schelin Detloff; and his sister Charlene Jorgensen (Gordon). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
