He was predeceased by: his parents, Orlo Thompson and Mary Thompson (Sargent); his sister Charlotte Mosher; and his brother-in-law Dennis Phipps. He is survived by: his children, Mary Tromblee (Kelly) of St Robert, MO, Robert Thompson, Jr. (Brenda) of Des Moines, IA and Melinda Farnsworth (Shane) of Urbandale, IA; his siblings, Dorothy Phipps of Pleasantville, IA and Ron Thompson (Brenda) of Indianola, IA; his grandchildren, Logan Thompson, Jacob Tromblee and Abigail Tromblee; and his stepgrandchildren, Cassidy Farnsworth and Megan Farnsworth (Gary Knutson) of Des Moines, IA..
