He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Short and Opal Short (Cope); and his brothers, Harold Short and Raymond Short. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Short (Weaver); his daughters, Vicky Talraas and Nicole Salazar (Chris); his brother Larry Short; and his grandchildren, Zachary Talraas, Jacob Talraas (Johanna), Kristine Salazar, Brittany Salazar (Alan Abad) and Andrew Salazar.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Karen Acres Care Center in Urbandale.
