It is with great sadness that we announce the death of June Merlene Newell (Urbandale, Iowa), born in Corydon, Iowa, who passed away on April 1, 2020, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dean L. Husted and Betty J. Jones Husted; and her siblings, Judy E. Husted and Lyle D. Husted. She is survived by: her husband Donald R. Newell of Altoona; her children, John M. Downing, Jr. (Kelly) of Amboy, Robin R. Simpson (Brian) of Des Moines and Lance C. Crabb of Des Moines; her stepson Daniel R. Newell (Ginny); her sister Loretta M. Husted of Des Moines; and her aunt Marilyn J. Husted of Waukee. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
