He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Benson and Frances Benson (Wachael); his wife Marylen Chesmore; his son Dan Benson; and his sisters, Norma Kisling (Clarence) and Shirley LeVelle (Marvin).
He is survived by: his children, Deb Claus (David) of Crystal Falls, MI, Mike Benson (Susan) of Urbana and Gary Benson (Bobbie) of Urbana; and his daughter-in-law Denise Benson of Marion. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
