He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Takes and Edna Takes (Zieser); his wife Marilyn Abernathy; and his great grandchild Zayden Weaver. He is survived by: his sons, Jim Takes (Connie) of Urbana and John Takes (Jennifer) of Urbana; his grandchildren, Tyler Takes (Chelsea), Nathan Takes, Logan Takes (Rachel Holub), Emily Takes, Nick Takes (Danica Heffernen), Sydney McCartney and Zach Weaver; his great grandchildren, Ava Takes, Maren Takes, Easton Takes, Kaylee Rose Weaver and Nevaeh Weaver; and his sisters, Beverly Kisling (Gary) of Urbana and Linda Koehler of Cedar Rapids.
