He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Edward Wilson and Alberta Ethel Wilson; and his siblings, Alvin, Claire, Margaret and Janet.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tennille Fain (Michael) of Marion and Lindsey Seegers (Shane) of Denver; his granddaughters, Mckayla, Elizabeth and Reagan; his sisters, Madeline Knowlton (Mike) of Charles City and Carol Roy of Cedar Rapids; and his wife Rhonda Wilson (Havner). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
