He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Appenzeller and Opal Appenzeller (Gardiner); his daughter-in-law Kristi Appenzeller; and his brother Terry. He is survived by: his sons, Scott Appenzeller of Des Moines and Todd Appenzeller (Luba) of Cedar Falls; his grandsons, Sam and Luke Appenzeller; and his brother Eldon Appenzeller (Joanne).
