It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Dettmer (Tripoli, Iowa), born in Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on July 11, 2018, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his son Thomas John; his grandson Nicholas Dettmer; his brother-in-law Howard Beam; and also, John Beam and Wilma Beam (Morgan).
He is survived by: his spouses, Marilyn Beam and Marilyn Dettmer; his children, Dana Oleson (Mike) of Ionia, Jamie Dettmer (Tanya) of Tripoli and Lori Dettmer (Dave) of Sumner; his grandchildren, Dylan Borglum (Heather), Jade Dix (Kevin), Mackenzie Dettmer, Ty Bergmann, Zachary Fretz, Nikki Dettmer, Brandon Cormeny and Kaydon Cormeny; his great grandchildren, Eli Dix, Isaiah Dix and Kinnick Dettmer; his siblings, Jolene Lindsey, Eugene Dettmer (Helen), Wayne Dettmer, Carol Inman (Randy) and Patty Steven (Jerry); his sisters-in-law, Shirley Beam and Helen Niesen; and also Waverly. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
