Margaret C Lyon Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 14, 2025, at the age of 99, Margaret C Lyon of Toledo, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell Holmes and Grace Holmes (Wade); her husband Howard; her siblings, Clarice Umdenstock (Dean) and Bill Holmes (Carol Ann); her in-laws, Oris Hinegardner, Jack Babcock, Earl, Helen Lyon, Durward Lyon (Carolyn), Joe Lyon (Norma), Tom Lyon and Bill Zmolek (Jean); her daughter-in-law Veronica Lyon; her grandson Alex DeTennis; and her great grandchild Elizabeth "Ellie" Williams.

She is survived by: her children, Carol Howard (Bob) of Walker, MN, Mary Paulsen (Joe) of Norwalk, Beth Williams (Don) of Nevada, James Lyon of Toledo, Stuart Lyon (Deb) of Toledo, Marcia Musgrove (Dan) of Iowa City, Peter Lyon (Mary Ann) of Toledo, Tony Lyon (Tina) of Reinbeck, Janet Lyon of Indianola, Margaret "Peggy" Lyon of Iowa City, Howard Jon Lyon (Carol Ann) of Maple Grove, MN, David Lyon (Suzy) of Kamas, UT and Chris Lyon (Lillian) of Sunnyvale, CA.; and her siblings, Jean Hinegardner, Ardis Babcock and John Holmes (Margie). She is also survived by Her extended family includes her beloved 35 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (900 Park St, Tama, IA 52339). A vigil service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.

A memorial fund will be established.
