He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome Jansen and Rosa Jansen (Donegan); and his son James Jansen. He is survived by: his wife Monica Wilhelm; his children, Angie Cannon (Darrell), Elizabeth Jansen and Leonard Jansen II; his grandchildren, Trisha Brauer (Hayden), Lisa Neal (Dan Wilcox), Heather Manley (Rick), Christopher Jansen (Kristin), Tristin Jansen, Shanell Belles (Jansen), Jory Holten (Melanie), Josh Cannon (Samantha) and Jordan Cannon; his great grandchildren, Bailey, Braydin, Tristin, Coltin, Eilish, Bryar, Briley, Braxton, Nash and Brynlee; and his sister Joyce Mumby. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Belle Plaine American Legion.
