Evelyn Elizabeth Van Syoc left this world on December 31, 2024 at the age of 97, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her former husband Howard Duane Van Syoc; her son Britt Van Syoc; and her sisters, Elaine Sivers and Beverly Swagel. She is survived by: her husband Bud; her son Scott Van Syoc (Sheryl); her stepchildren, Tim Hopper (Mo), Terry Hopper (Jeannie), Rick Hopper (Jodi) and Sandy Kleine (Donavon); her granddaughter Jamie Van Syoc (Dillon Martelli); her great grandchildren, Anton Van Syoc and Adi Martelli; and her brother Lyle Swagel. She is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Overton Funeral Home (501 W Ashland Ave, Indianola, IA 50125). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Belmont Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Animal Rescue League.
