He was predeceased by: his parents, William Jesse and Violet Fern Bearden (See); his brothers, William Cecil Bearden and Carl Bearden; and his sisters-in-law, Bettie Bearden, Elva Bearden and Mary Lynne Bearden.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Jane Taylor of Toledo; his children, Karen See (Rod) of Reinbeck and Steven Chester Bearden of Toledo; his grandchildren, Katie Mennenga (Trent) of Wellsburg and Cody See (Jenny) of Iowa City; his great grandchildren, Teagan, Blake, Charlotte and Allison Mennenga of Wellsburg; and his brothers, Charles, Fritz (Mila), Clifford (Joyce) and Clyde Bearden (Merna). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
