She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Dontje and Henrietta Dontje (Johnson); her husband Douglas Kay Mechler of Titonka, Iowa.; and her brothers, Eugene and Eldon.
She is survived by: her sons, Dean (Deborah) of Spencer, Brian of Mankato, Minnesota, Kent (Heidi) of Sheffield and Dale (Connie) of Algona; her grandchildren, Kyle Mechler (Janessa), Karen Corrigan (John), Michael Mechler (Molly), Alex Mechler, Timo Mechler (Kathleen), Christin Mechler, Alyssa Mechler and Jacob Mechler; and her great grandchildren, Rydia, Link, Charles and Abigail. She is also survived by Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
