He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father George C. Smith Jr; his wife Terri Lee Ellison; his stepsons, Adam Bodkin of Maquoketa and Danny Bodkin of Monticello; his grandchildren, Heath, Isaiah and Nevea Bodkin; his mother Charlotte Smith of West Liberty; his siblings, Melodi Kopf (Mark) of West Liberty, Susan Smith (Randy Meade) of West Liberty and Bryan Smith of Nichols; his father-in-law Richard Ellison of Monticello; his brother-in-law Tony Ellison (Tammy) of Monticello; his close friends, Mike Smith of Iowa City, Julie and Tony Metzger of Tipton; his mother-in-law Susie "Sunshine" Ellison; and his brother-in-law Jody. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
