He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Zimmerman and Neva Zimmerman (Oliver); his wife Donna Sander; and his siblings, Carl Jr., Jerry and Betty Gunder.

He is survived by: his children, Janel Wenndt (Kirk), Rodney Zimmerman (Michelle), Tanya Sterner (Ben) and Carey King; his sisters, Wanona West, Marianne Valliere, Linda Zimmerman, Bonnie Breiholz (Arlen) and Carolyn Cumberlin; and also, Wayne and Jo Brown. He is also survived by his four children; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
