He was predeceased by: his parents, James Chalmers and Lucy Chalmers; and his siblings, Stuart Scranton, James Chalmers Jr. and Nancy Hayes.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Naomi Brodersen; his daughters, Kimberly Randall, Kristin Beam of Lexington, SC and Kerri Smith of Tipton, Iowa; and his sister Caroline Falcucci of Middlesex, NJ. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
