He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wethington and Juanita Wethington (Grapes); his wife Ruby Lovell Simmons; his son Jim; and his brother Neal.
He is survived by: his children, David (Lisa) of Gastonia, NC, Robert (Wendy), Wendy Davis (Stewart), Brandon and Ron Lamphier (Annette); and his siblings, David (Janet), Mark Stanwood (Terry), Warren (Laura) and Anita Heick. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
