He was predeceased by: his parents, Diedrich Johan and Meta Minnie Schlueter Meyer; his nephew Robert Brendes; his brother Richard Meyer (Joan) of Clarence; his great-niece Melissa Ann Brendes; his great-nephew Quentin Coppess; and his brothers-in-law, Ralph Brendes and John T. Miller.
He is survived by: his siblings, Jeannette Brendes, Betty Ann Miller of Clarence, Iowa and Harlan Meyer (Shirley) of Stanwood, Iowa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
