She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Kabela and Alice Kabela (Smith); her stepfather Burt Wieneke; her husband Donald; her daughter Connie Sue; her daughter-in-law Leslie Pirkl; her sister Betty Sedlacek; and her close friend Lucy Bowers.
She is survived by: her daughter Christine Land (Clayton); her grandchildren, Jordan and Anne Land; her son Edward; her granddaughter Amber Vandenbosch (Lucas); her great grandchild Aria; her granddaughter Brittney Pirkl (Carl Grosvenor); her great grandchild Kinsley; her son Gary Pirkl; and her sister Marilyn Jensen.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service (2720 Muscatine Ave, Iowa City, IA 52240). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at the Oak Hill Cemetery. Pat survived stomach cancer, West Nile virus, Myasthenia, Covid, even a stroke a year ago, and who knows what else.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Pat's memory to support causes important to Pat.
