He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his children, Darwin Ruiter (Jane), Thornton, Corinne Walker (Don), Nora Springs and Scott Ruiter; his grandchildren, Tyrell Walker and Whitney Johnson; his stepgrandchildren, Leigh McCready, Danielle Brady and Ashley Sharum; his sister Maurine Nash; and his mothers-in-law, Barb Thompson (Forey) and Millie Verlo.
