He was predeceased by: his brother Charles Lynn Payton; his grandparents, Donald, Alveeda Payton, Earl Main and Delores Main Slagle; and his stepgrandfather Arthur Slagle.
He is survived by: his wife Janeesa Payton (Perkins); his sons, Dylan Rios and Andrew Payton; his parents, Gary Lynn Payton and Belva Payton (Main); his brother Daniel Payton (Elisha); his nieces, Grace and Lexi Bray (Brody Kuhlemeir); and his nephew Cale. He is also survived by other in-laws, relatives, friends and co-workers.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thornton United Methodist Church (404 Maple St, Thornton, IA 50479). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
