He was predeceased by: his parents, David Gilbert and Ollie Gilbert (Slowter); his wife Marjorie Lorene Throssel; and his siblings, Bob Gilbert, Harry Gilbert and Bernice Asbe.
He is survived by: his children, David Gilbert of Swaledale and Gail Cooper of Colorado; his granddaughters, Megan Gilbert and Kim; and his sister Lucille Proctor of Cresco. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
