He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jacobs and Minnie Jacobs (Bakken); his wife Joann Gjerstad; his sons, Scott Ronald and David Paul; his grandson Tyler Jacobs; his mother-in-law Myrtle Gjerstad; and his siblings-in-law, Lois Halvorson (Roger) and Dr. Paul Gjerstad.
He is survived by: his son John Jacobs of Thompson; his grandchildren, Erin Cross (Jared) of Clarion, Emily Anderson (Frank) of Marion and Andrew of Crystal, MN; and his great grandchildren, Sidney Cross of Sioux City, Brenna Cross (Coltn O'Donnell) of Forest City, Aidan Cross of Clarion, Grace, Owen and Oliver Anderson of Marion. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends.
Memorials can be made to Bethany Lutheran Church in Thompson or a charity of the donor's choice.
