He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Brawner and Margaret Brawner (Hanson); his wife Karen Brawner; his sister Marlene; his brother-in-law Arnold Dodge; his brother Darrel; and his siblings-in-law, Ardyce Brawner, Dean Jacobson and Claire Brawner.
He is survived by: his children, Terra Chapman of Kentucky, Brian Brawner (Pam) of Leavenworth, Kansas, Shelley Brawner of Terril, Iowa and Carrie Cottrell (Scott) of Grinnell, Iowa; his siblings, Jan Jacobson, Gary, Leslie (Les) and Harold Brawner (Joyce); and his grandchildren, Michael Haskins, Christopher Reed (Kasey), Jessie Greathouse (Jeramie), Joshua Schuler, Brandon Brawner, Kristin Metz and Kathryn Metz. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be given to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 or given to the family directly.
