We are sad to announce that on April 29, 2022, at the age of 101, Vivian Jane Smith (Tama, Iowa), born in Jefferson, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Schmidt and Gretchen Schmidt (Marean); her husband Lionel F. Smith; her siblings, Jesse Schmidt, William Schmidt Jr., Merle Schmidt, Fred Schmidt, Camella Treece and Pearl Nelson; and her son-in-law David VanDeWalle.
She is survived by: her children, Don Smith (Constance) of Johnston, Bill Smith (Connie) of Tama and Suzi VanDeWalle of Chelsea; her sister Katherine Parks of Moab, UT; and her close friend Francine Miller-Cox. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund will be established.
