He was predeceased by: his parents, Dallas Kitzman and Maxine Kitzman (Chambers); and his siblings, Carleen Kitzman and Fred Kitzman. He is survived by: his wife Ilene Kilberger of Swisher; his children, Brad (Deirdre) of Ankeny, Kara Carlson (Robert) of Oswego, IL and Lara Crane of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Aurelia, Conlan, Lauren, Alexander and Cora; his brother Dallas Kitzman Jr.; and his sister-in-law Carol Kitzman.

Memorials may be directed to the Jefferson-Monroe Fire Department or the Swisher American Legion.
