It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Zender Nelson (Swisher, Iowa), born in Cresco, Iowa, who passed away on August 14, 2018, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Zender and Marcella Emma Stabel Zender; and her sister Julie Stevens. She is survived by: her friend Diane Thiltgen; her children, Blaine Nelson of Swisher and Kristin Johnson of Solon; her grandchildren, Jesse Johnson, Kalie Johnson and Nicholas Nelson; her great grandchild Arya Johnson; her brother Vic Zender (Donna) of West Branch; and her nieces and nephews, Chelsie Schuster, Zach Zender, Katie Bogie and Mark Stevens.
