Merlin Carlson Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merlin Carlson of Swea City, Iowa, who passed away on November 12, 2021 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Carlson and Beda Carlson of Swea City, IA.; his former wife Doris Elaine Ditsworth; his wife Arl Carlson; his stepchildren, Randy Paulson (Vickie), Kenn Paulson (Ellen Austreng), Scott Paulson (Donna) of Winston, GA, Cindy Paulson Klockzien (Aaron) and Todd Paulson (Jennifer Neibauer); his sisters, Margery Werner (Clay) and Janice Heller (LeRoy); his close friend Arl; his sisters, Marlene Thorson of Spencer, IA and Betty Martin of Chewelah, WA; his stepdaughters, Deanne Brace (Jason) of Lone Rock, IA and Kim Wollner (Chuck) of Wisconsin; his stepgrandchildren, Aaron Brace (Amy), Amber VanDerSchaegen (Zac), Zeb Wollner (Tiffany) and Sara Rodriguez (Omar); and also Walter Schmid (Sheryl Fredin) of Van Dyne, WI. He was also cherished by 14 step-grandchildren; 28 step- great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Theda Clark in their Covid area, for all their care of Merlin.
