He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva Jones and Bernice Jones (Agnew); his son Steve; his daughter-in-law Barbara Jones; his brother Donald; his sister-in-law Viola Jones; and his son-in-law Jim Tarbert.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Jones of Sutherland, Iowa; his children, Gary Jones of Cave Creek, Tammy Livingston (Kirby) of Lakeland, DeeAnn Sommers (Jerry) of Lakeland, Josie Tarbert of Lemon Grove and Bret Ford (Shari) of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and his sister Sally Puhrmann of Storm Lake, Iowa.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
It was Gary's wish to donate his body to science at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine.
