He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Stearns and Thelma Stearns (Baker); his sons, Scott and Douglas Stearns; his brothers, Charlie and Milford Stearns; and his children-in-law, Bill Hesse and Teresa Stearns.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Ohl; his daughters, Cindee Lichter (John) of Galva and Connie Hillman (Marty) of Maynard, Iowa; and his siblings, Allan Stearns, Ed Stearns, Kaye Puffett, Mavis Heyer and Laurel Erhardt. He is also survived by his ten grandkids.
