He was predeceased by: his spouses, Lucille and Marilyn; his great grandchild Jaxson Matt; his sister Joyce Diemer; and his brother-in-law Wayne Lienau.

He is survived by: his parents, Matthew Leyh and Mabel Leyh (Handley); his children, David Leyh of Sumner, Karen Matt (Dave) of Sumner, Jeffrey Leyh of Sumner, Michael Leyh (Laura) of Cedar Falls and Kameron Leyh (Latisha) of Waterloo; his stepchildren, Danny McDaniel (Maybell), Elizabeth Little, David McDaniel (Sarah) and Shawna Matz; his siblings, Yvonne Lienau, Gwen Hart (Dennis), Larry Leyh (Levonne) and Carole Huntley (Jack); and his brother-in-law Kenneth Diemer. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
