She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Vanderhoef and Hilda Vanderhoef (Nuehring); her son Steve Girkin; her stepfather Willis Hodge; her parents-in-law, Herbert and Ida Oberheu Scharnhorst; her nephew Russ Piehl; and her brothers, Burton (Lavonne Piehl), Leroy Scharnhorst, Duane Kuhlers and Robert Sekander (Bud Girkin).
She is survived by: her former husband Alvin Girkin; her husband Lloyd Scharnhorst of Sumner; her children, Rebecca Sieve (Jon) of Aurora, Rodney Girkin (Lynn Lemanski) of Madison, Laure Meyer (Mike) of Sumner and Kathy Fish (Scott) of Waverly; her granddaughters, Hannah Sanders (Joshua) of Mansfield and Olivia; her great grandchildren, Noah, Madelyn, Mary and Emma Sanders of Mansfield; her sister Darlene Kuhlers of West Union; and her sister-in-law Lois Scharnhorst of Lake Havasu. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
