He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Pat Ver Woert of Sully; his children, Susan Esther (Glenn) of Newton, Teri Beeler (Greg), Shelly Ver Woert of Newton and Andy Ver Woert (Jenny) of Brooklyn; his grandchildren, Alex Peters, Nick Esther (Marty), Sam Peters (Paige), Addam Peters, Tabitha Fisher and Jac Fisher; his great grandchildren, Jack and Matilda Peters; his mother Ruth Ver Woert of Pella; his sisters, Ruthanne VanWyk of Pella and Linda Verhey (Gerrit) of Pella; his sister-in-law Carol Ver Woert of Pella; his father Andrew Ver Woert; and his brother Joe Ver Woert.
