He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leest and Artie Vander Leest (Zegers); his daughter Kimberly Jo Vander Leest; his brother Irvin Vander Leest; his parents-in-law, Clyde and Wanda Banks; his nephews, Curt Vander Leest and Matthew Vander Leest; his niece Jennifer Vander Leest; and his siblings-in-law, Sally Vander Leest, James Strovers and Robert Banks.
He is survived by: his wife Deloris Vander Leest; his daughter Kelley Zuidema (Steve); his grandchildren, Justin Zuidema (Jessica), Rachel Thompson (Chad), Katie Ratliff (Andy) and Amber Vander Leest; his great grandchildren, Casey, Hunter, Ben, Riley and Chaelynn; his brothers, Dwight Vander Leest (Glenda) and David Vander Leest; his uncle Bill Zegers (Dixie); his aunt Helen Schmidt (Fred); and his sisters-in-law, Virginia Strovers, Linda Hennon (Phil) and Lois Vander Leest.
