He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Harthoorn and Henrietta Harthoorn; his parents-in-law, Floyd and Jeanette Vander Kamp; his siblings, Bryce Harthoorn and Gelene Harthoorn; and also, Joe and Henrietta "Shorty" Harthoorn (Vander Pol).
He is survived by: his son Don; his wife Judy; his son Jeff Harthoorn of Sarasota; his granddaughter Sami Harthoorn; his brother Kurt Harthoorn (Arloa) of Sully; his siblings-in-law, Betty Harthoorn of Princeton, Gary Vander Kamp (Linda) of Newton and Steve Vander Kamp (Judy) of Ankeny, Iowa.; and also Jeff.
It seems Don entered the world in a health crisis because of WWII and left during another one caused by the pandemic.
