She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Joseph and Ila Jean Buhr (Kinnick); her husband Dwight David Holbrook; her parents-in-law, Helen and Bert Keufner; and her siblings-in-law, Frank, Bud, Glen, Dean, Mary Edna, Terri, Roxanne, Linda, Mary Jane, Lavonna and Norma.
She is survived by: her sons, Joseph David Holbrook of Stuart and Brandon D. Holbrook (Shannon) of Altoona; her adoptive children, Jami Rafter (Kevin) of Stuart, Katie Phippen (Shawn) of Stuart and Greg Saxton (Abbie) of Truro; her grandchildren, Tess, Brooklyn, Colby, Beau, Macie and Kaitlyn; and her siblings, Pamela Rumelhart (Jim) of Waukee, Michelle Davis (Charles) of Clive, Teresa Buhr of Des Moines, Haydn Buhr (Lynnette) of Pauls Valley, Susie Holbrook of Houghton, Alice Judevine of Carter Lake, Karen Crom (Don) of Omaha, Neb, Elaine Boyll of Terre Haute, Pete Holbrook (Teresa), Kaye Huffman (Jack) of Decatur, Neb, Doug Holbrook (Shirley), Gayle Wickwire (David) of Bellevue, Neb, Dale Holbrook of Des Moines and Kelly Larson (Joe) of Ankeny. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a plethora of friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Melinda's honor to an Athletic Booster Club of your choice and/or the Stuart Fire and Rescue Department.
