He was predeceased by: his parents, George Alexander and Ruth Alexander (Stonehocker); his wife Birdie; his siblings, Juanita Lewis and Harold Alexander; and his nephew Jerry Lewis.

He is survived by: his children, Mary Agan (John) of Las Vegas, Peggy Goins (Mark) of Ankeny, Sally Guisinger (Rick) of Menlo and David Alexander (Yuriko Togashi) of Vermillion, SD; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Alicia, Laura, Andrew, Anne, Matthew, Erica and Bets; his great grandchildren, Joshua, Tyler, Daniel, Evan, Dillion, Wesley, Katie of Brian, CJ, Brooks, Kaylee, Jordan and Keith; and his great great grandchildren, Briella, Waylon and Elias. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
