He is survived by: his mother Gwen Heidt (Fernald) of Oelwein; and his siblings, Janice Manley (Jim) of Waterloo, Roger Heidt (Rita) of Ozark, Carol Opitz (Pete) of Strawberry Point and Susan Falck of Strawberry Point. He is also survived by four siblings.
